“Lynne was an advocate in helping me be an advocate for myself and my health. In 2021 during one of our regular conversations, Lynne told me I should be asking my GYN for a risk assessment do be performed. I did just that, during my annual I asked my doctor for one and she said of course we can, if you believe you need one. After my responses to a series of questions we discovered that my chances of developing breast cancer was considered very high due to my mother diagnoses and passing. Right then and there she ordered me a MRI of my breast, scheduled me an appointment with breast health physician, and ordered me a 3D mammogram. I now see the breast health physician annually, I receive a MRI of my breast every once a year and a 3D mammogram once a year. The doctor said due to the low density in my breast this is the best course of action. All of this started from a regular conversation I was having with Lynne. She’s more than a survivor and overcomer she’s also an advocate for black women and their health.”

“I received some news that devastated me and family. My younger sister Q had a lump in her breast. At that time she was afraid, we were afraid. She saw a doctor at Chestnut Hill hospital that made things even more scarey and confusing. In all of that confusion we continued to pray for our sister. We were in the middle of a storm for sure. This one particular morning my neighbor/friend Lynne went on a walk with me on Kelly Dr. She always made me feel like I was in a safe place, so sharing with her was easy. She shared her story with me and how a hug that was so tight revealed a lump in her breast unfortunately Lynne was diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared her journey with me and Thank God she is cancer free. I told her what my sister was facing and she did not hesitate for a second to jump in. I asked if she would talk to my sister and we immediately left the drive and went straight to my sister's house. I called Q on the way to let her know that this amazing person wanted to meet with her asap. We went to my sister's house. I introduced Lynne to Q. Lynne made Q feel safe. She shared her story, she told Q what to do, questions to ask, and where to go. Lynne was a major factor in educating my sister on the path to what we all prayed for which was her recovery. Lynne gave us hope and she also made herself available for conversations at anytime day or night. My sister has been cancer free now for a little over a year. I thank God for all he has done. I thank God for Lynne, who went from my neighbor friend to my sister friend. I pray all good things for Lynne. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

My friend called me relieved to have some of her questions answered and to feel comfort, love and compassion from Lynne.
